Liam’s game

Liam Everett Liam attended our second SPEAR programme in the Summer of 2004. Liam had a passion for computer games and devoted a great deal of his time to pursuing his interest. During SPEAR he realized that his dream would be to become a games designer. Liam began to tread the steady path to that goal by getting a job at the retail store GAME where he was rapidly promoted. We were so proud of this achievement.

Well in January, Liam turned up at the SPEAR office wanting to talk about work. The news was spectacular. Before Christmas, Liam had applied for a position on-line to a company called Blizzard, the designers of his favourite game. After a few days he received a call from their Paris office inviting him for an interview.

Entirely on his own initiative, Liam got a passport, bought a flight, found his way to a small town outside Paris, booked himself into a hotel and attended an interview. We are delighted to report that he has been appointed as Gamesmaster on the English speaking team at Blizzard and will move to Paris at the end of March. This is an incredibly bold move for Liam and a massive achievement which testifies to his focus, passion and determination.
